Vintage Doily Pattern


Aren't these two doilies gorgeous? The vintage pattern is from Star Doily Book No. 151 by American Yarn Company.


With White or Silver Spangle
chain (Ch) 10, join to form (1) ring.

2nd Rnd:
* Ch 20, single crochet (Sc) in ring,
rep. from * 11 times.

3rd Rnd: 10 Sc, Ch 5, 10 Sc in each lp.

4th Rnd: Slip stitch (SLst) over next 10 Sc to next Ch 5 lp, Ch 4, 4 treble crochet (Tr) in same lp,
* Ch 5, 5 Tr in next lp,
rep. from * 10 times,
Ch 5, join in 4th st of Ch.

5th Rnd: Ch 4, Tr in same sp, 1 Tr in each of the next 3 Tr, 2 Tr in next Tr,* Ch 5, Sc in next lp,
Ch 5, 2 Tr in next Tr, 1 Tr in each of the next 3 Tr, 2 Tr in next Tr,
rep. from * all around - end to corr, join in 4th st of Ch.

6th Rnd: Ch 4, Tr in same sp, 1 Tr in each of the next 5 Tr, 2 Tr in next Tr,* Ch 5, Sc in next lp,
Ch 4, double crochet (Dc) in first st of Ch, Sc in next lp, Ch 5, 2 Tr in next Tr, 1 Tr in each of the next 5 Tr, 2 Tr in next Tr,
rep. from * all around - end to corr, join in 4th st of Ch.

7th Rnd: SLst to next Tr, Ch 4, 1 Tr in each of the next 6 Tr,
* Ch 5, Sc in next lp, Ch 4, Dc in first st of Ch, Sc in next lp, Ch 5, skip next Tr, 1 Tr in each of the next 7 Tr,
rep. from * all around - end to corr, join in 4th st of Ch.

8th Rnd: SLst to next Tr, Ch 4, 1 Tr in each of the next 4 Tr,
* Ch 5, Sc in next lp. work (1) rice-st (rice-st: Ch 5, Tr in first st of ch), Sc in next lp, Ch 5, skip next Tr, 1 Tr in each of the next 5 Tr,
rep. from * all around - end to corr, join in 4th st of Ch.

9th Rnd: SLst to next Tr, Ch 4, keeping last lp of each st on hook, 1 Tr in each of the next 2 Tr, yarn over and work off all lps at (1) time,
* Ch 7, Sc in next lp, work (1) rice-st, Sc in next lp, Ch 7, skip) next Tr, keeping last lp of each st on hook, 1 Tr in each of the next 3 Tr,
yarn over and work off all lps at (1) time (cluster st),
rep. from * all around - end to corr, join.

10th Rnd: Ch 3, Dc in same sp,
* rice-st, 2 Dc in next lp,
rep. from * once,
rice-st, 2 Dc in next cluster-st,
rep. from first * all around - end to corr, join in 3rd st of Ch.

11th Rnd: Ch 4, Tr in next st,
* rice-st, skip next rice-st, 1 Tr in each of the next 2 sts,
rep. from * all around - end to corr, join in 4th st of Ch.

12th Rnd: Same as 11th Rnd.

13th Rnd:
* Work (1) 2 Tr rice-st (2 Tr rice-st: Ch 5, keeping last lp of each st on hook. 2 Tr in first st of Ch, yarn over and work off all lps at (1) time),
rep. from * 3 times,
Dc between 2nd and 3rd Tr rice-sts, 2 Tr rice-st, Tr between first and 2nd Tr rice-sts, 2 Tr rice-st, skip next rice-st,
Sc between next 2 Tr (scallop).

Work all scallops in same way, join, cut yarn.

INSIDE EDGE: With right side facing, attach Shaded Pinks or Red Spangle in any
Ch 5 lp of 3rd Rnd to right of 5 Tr group, Sc in same sp, working around Tr groups,
